Meet our xFramer: Thanh Nguyen

We are xFramer Sep 1, 2021

Hi everyone, this is xFrame!

Thank you very much for using xFrame.

We are happy to introduce to you the “Meet our xFramer” series, where you can get to know our team members and learn more about the people behind our service.

Let’s have a small talk with our beloved developer - Mr. Thanh Nguyen

1. Tell something about yourself!

Hi, I'm Thanh 😄

I live in Hanoi, Vietnam.

My hobby is exploring nature, new lands, the sea,.. but my real passion is using technology to build interesting products.

2. What’s your role at xFrame?

xFrame is one interesting product 😄
Can you guess what I’m doing in xFrame?

(Mr.Miyamae's comment: Thanh Nguyen is the developer of xFrame, who is responsible for the development and maintenance of the xFrame backend. Besides that, he also designs new features and improves existing systems.
He manages other developers, too.)

3. What’s your working background?

I started my software engineer career in 2010 and joined PIXTA VIETNAM in 2017.

During my development, I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to build and understand product concepts across mobile, desktop, and web platforms.

Since joining PIXTA VIETNAM, I have had the chance to work with super big systems and continue to develop my skills.

xFrame is a special experience, it is a new product so my team and I can build, watch it grow day by day.

4. What does your regular day at xFrame look like?

Normally, I start the day by scheduling work for all day, making sure xFrame's system is working well, and as a user of xFrame sometimes I look for some "new" "interesting" photos on the site 😉

Next, I spend my efforts developing xFrame features, enhancing system performance. Obviously, I don't do these things alone. Our team has never been afraid to share and discuss improving work through communication and meetings.

In addition, I also have silent moments for me to research and think about further things for our product.

At the end of the day, we have a daily meeting, to meet others and share about our day.

5. What tools do you usually use for work?

  • For communication:
Communication is always important and more so when I need to work remotely due to the COVID-19 situation.
I usually use Slack to connect with others, Google Meet or Zoom for video meetings.

  • For management:
We’re using Scrum methodology to manage the development process and Jira helps us a lot.

  • For “Coding”:
Sublime Text and iTerm2 can make me look like a hacker 😎😎😎

6. 3 words about xFrame?

“Expand”, “Creativity” and “Community”!

xFrame is a platform that provides free stock photography, towards contributing and expanding the creative community. In order for that, we will need your support and the community a lot.

The hint is that we will provide the feature of uploading photos to xFrame in the future. Please look forward to it ^^!

7. What is the biggest challenge you faced while participating in the xFrame project? How did you and your team overcome it?

I think the hard time for us was at the beginning.

At the beginning of the project, everything we had was zero: not sure the way forward, not sure of the product goals, not sure if we were doing it right, not sure whether we could take the next step or not... The workload at that time was too great while human resources were limited.

Moreover, our team members come from different countries, so that communication between us is also a big challenge.

To solve that, from the start, we sat together to agree on the plan as well as how to work and communicate.

So we go together to this day 👏👏👏

I think challenges will always come to everyone, let's overcome them and achieve worthy results! Together with your team, sure ^^!

8. What do you usually do in your free time?

I like long trips, the better without pre-planning trips.
Otherwise, I spend my time with family and tech stuff.

9. Where can people find you/ chat with you?

I'm waiting for your messages! My email address
